Create or Edit Tables

 

  • Click on table icon
  • Click on diagram to add table
  • Double-Click or Enter to edit table
  • To navigate in table editor use “Up/Down Arrow” or Tab keys
  • Click on table to select and access table details properties

How to move, copy or re-order columns

  • Click to select column/s in the table on diagram and drag it wherever you want
  • Press CTRL key while dragging for Copy otherwise it move the columns

Maximize Diagram Area using SqlDBM


Click on Left and Right Panel Menu to hide it, this helps to have maximum diagram area
You can also drag the inner vertical borders of the Left and Right Panels to adjust the diagram area

Diagram View Mode Options

  • Click on the diagram area of the screen to see the View Mode Options
  • Select or Unselect the following:
    Show Schema
    Data Type
    Null Options
    Keys
    Color Data Type

Zoom In or Out / Increase or decrease size

  • Scroll mouse wheel OR Click on “+” or “-” buttons to Zoom
  • Reset Zoom from Top-Bar Menu options
  • Use “Zoom to fit” menu option to fit all elements of diagram in your visible area
  • View your zoom level on bottom left of your diagram area

Create self Reference / Relationship

  • Pick relationship item from Menu
  • Click on the same table twice to select Parent and Child table
  • Change Rolename of the relationship

Create / Delete Relationships or References

Creating relationships:

  • Click on “Relationship” icon
  • Click on “Parent Table”
  • Click on “Child Table”

Deleting relationships:

  • Click on Relationship line to Select, then press “Delete” key

  • Right Click Relationship line to see Delete option
  • Click Delete Relationship

Create Diagrams and Subject Areas

  1. Click on “Add Diagram” icon
  2. Name your diagram in “Diagram Properties”
  3. Right click on the diagram & click “Delete” in order to delete diagram
  4. Click on “Add Subject Area” icon
  5. Name your subject area in “Subject Area Properties”
  6. Right click on the subject area & click “Delete” in order to delete subject area

Database Explorer

  • Click on 3rd option on Left menu bar to open Diagram Explorer
  • View and access your complete database
  • Drill down to all elements (like columns, indexes) of your Database
  • Select any item, and you can access its properties in Properties Section on Right Vertical panel of the tool.

Team Work - Share / Collaborate

Share your Database Project

  • Use Share Link on Top Right Menu option to open Share Feature Pop-Up
  • Click Copy button to copy on clipboard share link of your Project
  • OR (if copy button does not work, because of browser security settings) click on link anchor to open “Shared Project” in New Tab and then copy link manually.

Points to Note:

  • This is public share link of your project, which means whoever has this share link can open DB Model, and save as their own project.
  • This is not collaborate feature where multiple users can work on same project, which means if user with share link make changes it will not reflect in original project.

Collaborate or edit a shared project with your team / multiple users

  • On Dashboard page, from Project context menu, select the option Project Team
  • Create your team members and assign them roles
  • Only one team member at a time is allowed to make changes

Click “Lock & Edit” to make changes

“Save” Or “Revert” changes

Unlock or “Release lock”, so others can edit

Account Settings

Change Password

  • Log into your SqlDBM account
  • Click on icon in the upper right-hand corner
  • Go to your account settings and click on Change your password

  • Enter your current password
  • Type a new password. The New password must be at least 6 characters long, have at least one lowercase (‘a’-‘z’), one uppercase (‘A’-‘Z’) and one digit (‘0’-‘9’)
  • Type the password again to confirm it
  • Click Change Password

Change Account Name

  • Log into your SqlDBM account
  • Click on icon in the upper right-hand corner

  • Click Account to go to Account Settings

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Change your Display Name. If the field is blank, an email will be displayed
  • Click Save

Reset / Forgot Password

  • Click on Sign In

  • Enter your email address and click Send
  • Check your email and follow the instructions to reset your password

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Enter e-mail account, choose a password, and then re-enter it
  • Click on Reset
