Redshift Reverse Engineering Support
At SqlDBM, one of our core beliefs that we really strive to infuse into everything we do, is to truly listen to our users’ requests and feedback. A significant percentage of our users expressed that they would want the ability to Reverse Engineer their existing Redshift Data Warehouses in SqlDBM. We listened and actualized that.
The SqlDBM team is proud to announce the release of SqlDBM v.2.10 based on our roadmap/feedback.
Reverse Engineering is a very powerful feature that should help you, especially in situations when you inherit a database/data warehouse and you lack the model. It will save you hours and maybe even days of work you should otherwise make almost completely manually. In this release, we added Reverse Engineering support for Redshift Data Warehouses.
Reverse Engineering feature in SqlDBM can be used in two different options
- Create brand new project in SqlDBM from your existing database/data warehouse
- Update existing SqlDBM project from your existing database/data warehouse
Support for Redshift Reverse Engineering
Long awaited feature of ability to reverse engineer an existing Redshift Data Warehouse in SqlDBM is finally here. With this feature you can improve your productivity as you develop and model your existing Redshift Data Warehouse.
Accessing “Reverse Engineering” for Redshift Data Warehouses is very straight forward, similar to other database types. Just click on left bottom Reverse Engineering tab and paste your existing DDL and then click upload icon.

Fixed following reported issues as well:
- Fixed problems with team collaboration emails withing the tool
- Fixed performance issues with Snowflake Reverse Engineering when the database schema is large (more than 100 tables and more than 300 columns in tables)
- Amazon Redshift Reverse Engineering implementation
This isn’t all we’ve done, we’ve also made a few minor tweaks to improve the overall experience with SqlDBM.
